Sylvia was born in Kelliher, Minn. to Thomas and Svalaug (Slettevold) Christopherson. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1940. She met William (Bill) Worth in high school and they married in Boston on Feb. 4, 1944 when Bill was on leave from the Navy. She worked in Shop 11 at PSNS as a shipfitter's helper, where she played on the women's softball team.
After World War II, Sylvia was a full-time mom, participating in her daughters activities, especially many hours as a leader and chairman of the annual Camp Fire Girls Mint Sale. She was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for over 60 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher and devoted many hours to a host of activities, including chairmanship of various groups and projects. After her children left home, she worked at the first location of McBride's Hallmark store in downtown Bremerton.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Patricia Dunlap, Joanne (Ron) Wilkinson, and Dianna Worth; and her loving extended family.
