Born to Ivan and Ida Williams on July 31, 1931. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2019. Don grew up in Highfill, Arkansas. His father was a farmer and his mother a teacher. They moved to Oklahoma City so Don and his wonderful sister, Geraldine (Jerry) could attend school. Upon high school graduation, he attended college for two years and then went into the Army National Guard, serving in Korea for two years. On July 2, 1952, he married his sweetheart, Maxine Marler. They moved to Bremerton and he worked for the Naval Shipyard for 37 years. Don and Maxine traveled to all 49 states in their motorhome, plus Hawaii, upon his retirement. They also toured Japan, France, and Germany. They raised four children: Katherine (Randy) Albertson, Port Orchard; Rhonda (Jerome) Zuick, Port Orchard; Donald Jr. (Julie) Williams, Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Randy (Diana) Williams, Port Orchard. Maxine died in 2002 after 50 years of marriage. Don could not stand staying home so he asked Edith Kienast if she would travel with him in the motorhome, which they did for two years. They went to a lot of different places before he asked Edith to marry him. They got married April 16, 2005. Don has four stepchildren: Ricky Marler, University Place; Roxanne Kienast, University Place; Judith Gerren, University Place; and Jim (Debbie) Kienast, Spanaway. In total Don has 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his children and all the grandkids, Don is survived by his wife, Edith and sister, Jerry. A Memorial service will be held on June 23, 2019 at the Skyline Christian Church, 626 N. Skyline, Tacoma, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Skyline Christian Church.
