Daniel Lynn Parrott, 48, of Poulsbo, was born at Palo-Alto Stanford Hospital Center in Palo Alto, Calif. to James R. Parrott and Mary J. (Parrott) Bakke, one of two children. He attended school in California and moved with his parents to Bremerton in 1973. He graduated from Olympic High School in 1983. In high school, he competed in wrestling and football.

He joined the Navy and served from 1985 to 1995, attaining the rate of machinist mate second class. Upon his graduation from basic training in Great Lakes, Ill., he was stationed at Naval Station Sand Point, Wash. He then served on board the USS Harry W. Hill, completing two West Pac deployments and in the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield/Storm and then was stationed in Naniamo, Canada. After his discharge from the Navy he attended Olympic College from 1996 to 1998, attaining an associate's degree as an automotive diagnostician. He then received his CDL and began his career as a long haul trucker, traveling from coast to coast. Currently, he had been working in the furniture business at NW Design Center.

He was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He cherished his annual hunting trips to Eastern Washington and Montana with his father and hunting partners.

Danny's legacy in this world was his giving and caring behavior toward those less fortunate. He could always be counted on by family and friends to be there when needed. If he only had a dollar in his pocket and he saw that someone else needed it, he gave it.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Chester and Vonda Senger of Colby, Kan., Mae Gertrude and Roy Clyde Parrott of Etowah, Tenn.; his uncles, Wilmer (Woody) Schmidt and Clyde Parrott; and his cousins, Tad Runions and David (Davy) Schmidt.

Danny is survived by his parents; daughter, Rose; sister, Becky; stepmother, Jan Parrott; stepfather, George Bakke; stepsisters, Angel Barylski (Brian) and Cindy Scott (Jeff); stepbrother, Greg Cote (Patra); step-grandmother, Nancy Bakke; partner, Dacia Rogers; her son, Dereck; and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
