Barbara Joan Otto, also known as Barbara Dahl, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2023, in Olalla, Washington. She was born on January 30, 1934, in Iron River, Michigan, to her loving parents Bernard and Tyne Dahl, who preceded her in death.
Barbara was a remarkable woman who had a deep love for animals and enjoyed spending time working in her yard and flower gardens. In her younger years, she actively participated in various leagues, including bowling, baseball, and dart. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to form lasting friendships.
Barbara dedicated a significant part of her life to her career. She worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, where she excelled in shipping and packing. Later, she extended her skills and joined the National Security Agency (NSA), working as a shipping and packing professional at the McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Her dedication and attention to detail were highly regarded by her colleagues.
Barbara leaves behind a cherished legacy and will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her daughters, Wanda Lusk and Suzan Hastings; her sons, Gary Blackwood and John Otto. They will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
A graveside service will be held in Barbara's honor on November 16, 2023, at 2:00pm. The service will take place at the Miller Woodlawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Washington. The funeral home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Barbara's final journey.
