Art was born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1943. He attended Palmerton High and was then drafted into the military March of 1964. He served in the US Air Force honorably through April 1, 1984 retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a Combat Disabled Viet Nam Veteran with an entrepreneurial spirit that never had boundaries except maybe his wife and the pocket book. He somehow was always able to succeed in business despite having NO experience. He has done everything from starting a laundry business to running a car rental/sales business to having a farm where pigs, rabbits, fruit trees and fish were raised. He once started up a sign company simply by selling signs door to door. He even tried a fireworks stand one year as well as shipping boxes to the Philippines. He was also able to open, successfully grow and eventually sell a grocery store and a restaurant. Of course we can’t forget his beloved rental properties. No matter how big or small his business venture was he always approached it with all that he had using his wit, charm, humor, 100% raw determination and especially the free labor of his family.
Art really enjoyed the outdoors. As long as he wasn’t working you could be sure to find him out fishing using his famous “fish calling techniques”. Other favorite outdoor activities included hunting, clamming, crabbing, or out catching squid and sometimes convincing unsuspecting relatives to go down and gather a few (BAGS) of oysters for him.
Traveling was his other passion. Family vacations often included travel by car. He often disguised the lack of hotel accommodations with words like “Camping” or “Visiting Relatives”. Additionally, stopping to eat usually meant pulling into the welcome centers along the freeway for free cookies or oranges in which we were strongly encouraged to go back 2 sometimes 3 times to make sure that we did not go away hungry.
Art was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Peter Brozino and his sister Sharon Brozino.
Art is survived by the true love of his life and wife of 49 years, Leonora along with his 5 children Arthur Jr., Rose, Reynie, Tony and Ricky, his 9 grandchildren Christian, Marife, Christina, Lei Lei, Chastin, Michael, Connie, TJ, and Avarie, his 3 great grandchildren Damien, Theo, and Olive.
For all of those who knew Art he was always known to have a personality larger than life with a heart to match. You could always count on his jolly laugh, handsome smile and a voice that could be heard for miles to tell a story that would leave your side hurting from laughing no matter what the situation. He was always willing to offer a hand when needed and there were never strangers in his presence as all became instant family. We will forever miss him!!
