Norma Reta Wilson

Peacefully at Brierwood Gardens on April 6th, 2016. Norma, beloved wife of Jim Wilson for 58 years; cherished mother of Jeanne Wilson-Rawls (Alan), Karen Decker (Garry), and Diane Carr (John). Loving Grandmother of Connor and Erin Rawls, Ryan Wilde, Sydne Decker, and Bailey and Justin Carr. Dear sister of Elinor Emmons (John) and sister-in-law of Richard Hesler, Virginia Penwarden, Claude Wilson (Marie) and Mike McGrath. Predeceased by sisters Ruth Brettel (Harry), Elma Hesler, brothers Doug and Bruce Penwarden (Joan) and sister-in-law Marie McGrath. Norma spent 41 years working as a Registered Nurse finishing her career as an operating room nurse at the Brantford General Hospital, she then continued to volunteer after her retirement. She was also an avid curler at the Brant Curling Club, card player and number one fan of her children and anything they were involved in. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Sunday April 10th from 12 noon to 2pm. A Celebration of Norma’s life will be held in the Chapel at 2pm. A Private family interment will be held at Oakhill Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Norma to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
