Mr. John Harold Chadwick

Chadwick, John Harold Mawson – Died peacefully at Park Lane Terrace, Paris ON on Oct 20, 2020 in his 92nd year. Devoted husband for 57 years to the late Anneke (2016), loving father of Helen (John Ecker) of Whitby, Margaret (Gerran Ferrey) of Michigan and John (Brenda) of Markham. Beloved grandfather of Chad, Victoria, Edward, Catherine, John and Evan. John was born in Edmonton AB, and lived in Prince Albert, SK and Brandon, MB. He moved to Toronto in 1949 to study photography, his life-long passion, at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. After graduation he embarked on a trip to Europe where he met his bride-to-be, Anneke, in the Netherlands. They married and moved to Brantford ON, where John worked at Muttart Homes, selling prefabricated homes. John was known for his selfless dedication to his family, his dry sense of humor, and his calm and gracious demeanor. He and Anneke enjoyed hiking, cycling and camping well into their late 70’s. His family is grateful for John’s phenomenal collection of family photographs and home movies that chronicled the lives and adventures of his children and grandchildren.

Thank you to all the staff at Park Lane Terrace and Dr. Catherine Hanley who made John’s life so full and happy over the last four years. To keep our friends and family safe during these difficult times, the family will be holding a private funeral mass and internment at a future date.
