George Burton

Peacefully, after a short illness, in his 87th year, on December 11, 2015, George passed away at the Brantford General Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of Greta. Dear brother of Dorothy Hammond and Viola Stevens. Predeceased by parents George and Phoebe Burton and siblings Edna, June, Robert and Ronald. Also left to miss George’s loving companionship is his furry friend Bear. Cherished brother in law to Zeta Keddy, Inez Hanzel, Bernard (Ruth) MacDonald and Ray Schaafs. George was a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews. After moving to Brantford 25 years ago, George accumulated many, many dear friends, especially Mike Collins. George loved his fishing, music and the company of his friends. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 7pm-9pm with Parish Prayers at 8:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
