SEWARD, Walter, Jr., "Wally,", was born July 1, 1932 in Everett, Massachusetts, passed July 30, 2015 and was one of 10 children of Walter and Bridget Seward. He moved to Brandon, Florida with his family in 1974. He was a loving husband to his wife Virginia (Ginny) for 51 years and the beloved father to John and his wife Natalie of Tampa, Karen and her husband Herman Lazzara of Riverview, and Julie Seward of Tampa. Additionally, he was a cherished grandfather to Matthew and Jane Lazzara, and Marie and Lauren Seward. He is also survived by his sisters Doris O'Neil, Mary Barker, Shirley Sullivan, and Alice Porcaro, of Massachusetts, and Barbara Kirby of Fort Meyers Beach. Prior to his career in sales he spent 11 years as a professional baseball player, primarily in the Cleveland Indians organization. For 35 years he served the Church by volunteering with RCIA, Parish Council, Nativity Food Pantry and as a Eucharistic Minister. He also enjoyed his weekly visits to nursing home residents. Wally loved the Lord and his family above all else, and had a great joy of life. He was faithful, loving, loyal and kind. He loved to laugh and was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan. We will miss him dearly. I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7.
