Sandra Lou Dean Clark departed this earthly home, after a time of declining health, to go to her eternal home in Glory, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She passed peacefully in her home, in Zephyrhills, Florida, at the age of 82. Sandra was born on April 22, 1942, as the youngest of four children born to Mathew and Florence Dean of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
During her early years, Sandra, her family, and their extended families enjoyed lots of time at the lake where she learned to swim and fish, both of which became a great love of hers. Sandra made many memories during those lake adventure times, memories she often enjoyed sharing. Being the youngest sibling of three older siblings, this created a wonderful opportunity for her to learn skills in babysitting for her many nieces and nephews. She could recount stories of each of them, as if it were yesterday.
Sandra’s life changed more than she ever thought it would, when she met a friend of her older brother's, by the name of Ken Clark. This particular young man would lead Sandra to the Lord, when she was 16 years old. She fell in love with him, dated him for four years, and married him in June of 1961, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They made their way to Valrico, Florida where they started a family five years later, with their daughter, Lynn, followed by their son, John.
Sandra enjoyed going camping and fishing with her family at nearby lakes and springs. She loved Lithia Springs and Juniper Springs campgrounds, where her and her family made many memories over the years. Sandra loved being a housewife and homemaker who enjoyed hobbies, such as sewing and crocheting lovely afghans and crocheting many lap blankets for residents at the nearby nursing homes. After her children were grown, Sandra and husband, Ken traveled the United States, staying in many RV campgrounds, and visiting friends and relatives along the way. Other passions of Sandra’s included serving at her church. She loved serving as Sunday School Secretary, Head of Kitchen Committees and being a Greeter. Sandra had a true servant’s heart and would drop everything to help someone in need.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Jeff) Potts, son, John (Julie) Clark, her granddaughter, Kayla, and grandson, Joshua, along with several nieces. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth Franklin Clark, father, Mathew J. Dean, mother, Florence Dean, brothers Robert and Jim Dean, sister, Marilyn Deaux, and granddaughter, Danielle.
Sandra truly will be missed, and we are grateful for her presence in our lives. As fellow believers, we know we will see her again, knowing she just went home, and she is truly alive and safe in the presence of the Lord!
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Sandra, December 14, 2024, at Zephyrhills Assembly of God. The address of the church is 36322 FL-54, Zephyrhills, Florida, 33541. The viewing will begin at 10 a.m., the service will be at 11 a.m., and a reception will follow the service, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m
