Joan Curcio was born September 28th 1946 in Darby Township, PA, and was the 3rd child of 6 by her parents Marion and John Lieb. She was raised in a loving family in Upper Darby. She attended St Lawrence Catholic School, and Pendergrass Catholic High School. She attended West Chester State College. Summer of 1970 she met Ken Curcio Sr. at Hanns Restaurant in Stone Harbor NJ. After a yearlong romance they married at St. Lawerance in Upper Darby. They moved into a house on Flemming Street. Their first child Kenny Jr was born 2 years later on July 5th 1974 who was a healthy beautiful boy. There were complications with the delivery, and she was unable to conceive again. They wanted more children, so they decided to adopt Theresa, Jay, and Marianna. All of their children were a blessing and completed their family.
Joan was a realtor, devote Catholic, Fransciscan third order, sent thousands of Rosaries to Fatima & Lords. She took excellent care of her mother Marion, devoted mom, Nana, and truly loved her family.
Kenny Jr & April met at the Hair Cuttery while attending college there in Blackwood Nj and married in Tampa 2 years later. They had 3 beautiful children (Katelyn, Anthony, and Christina). Joan & Ken decided to move to Florida and retired in order to keep the family together and enjoy the grandchildren. Jay also had a daughter named Jasmine who is a beautiful child & gift to us all. Joan later developed liver problems after years of medicine. After many years of struggle, and days in the hospital Joan at age 71 was called to heaven at St. Josephs hospital in Tampa on June 6th surrounded by her immediate family around 5pm.
She will be missed by her siblings John, Barbara (deceased), Steven, Michael, Rosemary. Survived by her loving husband Ken Curcio SR., children Ken Jr, Theresa, Marianna, Joseph, and her grand children Kate, Anthony, Jasmine, and Christina. Also her daughter in law April Paleveda Curcio, and son in law Chris Howell.
