Dennis was a Blue Water Marine serving during the Vietnam war stationed in Japan. During his service he was in an operation to retrieve a chopper in Vietnam.
He retired from Verizon Wireless after many years in the telecommunications industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Watkins Sr., Mary Frances Hammond Watkins; and brother Roy Watkins. Survivors include wife of 41 years, Anita; two children, Stephanie, Michael; siblings, James, Roger, Joyce, Shirley, Bob; sister-in-law, Mary
Dennis loved football and racing. He loved his kids more than anything. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father.
He will be missed dearly. And we will always carry your memory in our hearts!
A celebration of life for Dennis will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
