Rhonda was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 24, 1957 to the late Edgar and Patricia (Schell) Thompson. She grew up in Jacksonville and lived in Hudson before moving to New Jersey 28 years ago after meeting her husband, Mark Iwanski. Prior to her retirement, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the House of the Good Shepherd. Rhonda was a dedicated board member for HSAC Housing Committee for several years and served as Chair for 2 years. She was also a part of the hiring committee for Sussex County Community College, selecting board members for the college.
Rhonda also had an unwavering passion for horses, she excelled in western pleasure riding, often seen competing at local shows. In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Rhonda found tranquility on the water, enjoying countless hours kayaking. The serenity of nature was a source of peace and inspiration, reflecting her adventurous spirit. Rhonda also fulfilled a dream by opening her own business, HorseLovers Trading Post, where she shared her passion for horses and provided a welcoming space for fellow enthusiasts. Rhonda was also known for starting the very popular local Facebook group over five years ago, "Sussex County! What's going on?".
The beloved wife to Mark Iwanski, she is also survived by her children, Brittany Iwanski, Robert Iwanski, Heather Norred and her husband, Steve and Brent Iwanski and his husband, Shannon; her grandchildren, Syndra Iwanski, Cody Stiles and Brittany Rodgers; her great-grandchildren, Lainey Rodgers and Charlotte Stiles; her sisters-in-law Rita Iwanski and Emily Wimmer; her uncle, Jon Shykove and his wife, Priscilla and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, Rhonda was predeceased by her sisters, Terry Barrett and Julie Green and her grandparents, Oscar and Hazel Shykove.
All services will be held privately.
