Colleen was born in Paterson, raised in Hawthorne and moved to Sussex County in 1986. She attended New Jersey City University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education. Colleen worked as a Special Education Teacher for more than 30 years, retiring in 2011. During her career, she worked in the Fredon, Hampton, and Frankford districts, but spent most of her time at the Sacred Heart Elementary School in Dover, working for Sussex County Educational Services.
Colleen was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Colleen was predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Romanaukas) O’Hare. She is survived by her husband, Brian Buck; her children, Jarred Buck and wife, Jennifer, Tara Buck, and Kevin Buck and wife, Olivia; her grandchildren, Madeline, Aubrey, Peter and Alice; her father, John O’Hare, Jr.; her siblings, Patricia Hess and husband, George, Kerry Ann McDonald and husband, Max, and Loreen O’Hare; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, NJ followed by a Memorial Service at 7:30 pm.
