Jean was born to Stanislaus Jaikaran and Agnes Regina Persaud (dec’d) in Guyana. Jean, was lovingly called Dolly by her parents, siblings, close relatives and friends because as a child she was so tiny.
She was employed by Fogarty’s where she met Joseph Lee. They fell in love and got married. During their 52 years of marriage they resided at Berry Rd., Etobicoke, Toronto until Joseph passed away in June 2021. Jean then moved to Peel Manor, Brampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Joseph, her two brothers, Patrick and Vincent. She is survived by her two sisters Joan (George) Gonsalves and Patricia (Patsy) Persaud, and brother Leon (Julie) Persaud. Also survived by 12 nieces and nephews,12 grand nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, especially Kishore, Gargie and Anita and many other relatives and friends.
Jean lived a life of love, kindness and deep appreciation and gratitude for the family and good people who filled her life with joy and kindness. She found joy in shopping, eating delicious meals, wearing lovely clothes and jewellery, and happiness in nature and friendship.
As we mourn the loss of this gentle, soft spoken, generous woman, let us find solace in knowing that she is now at peace. Her memory will forever live in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Friday November 22 at 10:00 - 12:00 at Andrews Community Centre, in Brampton. Followed by Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Brampton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Canadian Heart Association.
