I’m here finding myself wanting to again have you hug me & tell me that you love me & that I’m gonna be ok.
I will always have this HUGE hole in my heart & soul that was your space. I am being blessed by ALL of the texts, voicemails, calls & messages that people are sending to me. Dad, you would be hearing & reading about all of them & crying. I told one of the girls that was in touch with me that you would have said, “ It was all worth it.”  Dad, you were a …..One of a kind man. Forever I will remember all of the stories, jokes & the “unconditional “ love you had for me & my family. Knowing this separation is temporary is such a comfort! I KNOW you’re  at Jesus’ feet…. Worshipping Him & wouldn’t come back even if you could. I’m happy that you are in your eternal home. Healed!

I am Jim Rhodes (Bill's brother) and I am 5 years older than Bill.
If Bill had any bad habits or did anything wrong, it was probably my fault.  
I taught him how  to work on the farm and shoot a BB Gun.  We didn't have a lot of toys  so we rode horses, plowed fields, hauled hay, fed the chickens and pigs and went to church with our mom and dad who were the best Christian Parents a child could have had.  Jesus blessed us and Bill is an example of what that legacy  can produce.

I thank God for the Rhodes family, for their children home ministry,  God in my protection allowed me to go there, I was given love and structure I never received in my family. They were an example of what a family suppose to be. Brother Bill preached God's word and it help shape my future. I'll forever be grateful. See you in glory sir, may God comfort and bless his loved ones at this difficult time.

Oh Pauline I’m so sorry for your loss! I remember you and Bill so well.  Of Course Azalea was like my second mom.

Bill will be missed.  He always had a smile and was someone I knew would help me when I was car shopping at Chevrolet.  He wasn't pushy and  his personality was just right for what he did both there and as a pastor as well.    Pauline, I know you have many memories of good times that you shared with Bill. Grandpa  you were quiet but always knew what to say in the exact moment even if it was something slick that no one expected you to say.  Like “ Oh just hush” for example haha.. You loved and helped everyone around you .. Some of my favorite memories are when we would go to the pond at the house in Marble Hill, Mo and go fishing even if we didn’t catch anything you let me take credit for at least one.  You always gave the best and biggest hugs!! I know you are praising with Jesus right now and getting to meet all the amazing men of god that you have preached about for years. Love you so much!

I remember the day I arrived at Faith's Children's Home in Gulfport Mississippi.I met Bro Rhodes and his family and immediately felt welcomed.For the next year I would make a million memories with them that I will cherish forever.my favorite is when ever Bro Rhodes or I would say something funny he would say "that's a knee slapper" and slap his knee laughing.i cannot express howuch I appreciate Bro Rhodes opening his home for kids in need of structure and discipline and love. He provided all that not only thru his preaching but by example we learned of God's love for us .He lived what he preached. I am so grateful for the sacrifices he and his family made ..for me .. what a difference he made in my life.i will never forget him... .nor will I forget the night I graduated high school and to my surprise he and Mrs Rhodes made the 3 hr drive to attend the ceremony...I love you Bro Rhodes ... I'll see you when I get there....RIP.

I will add that he was the director of Faith Children’s Home for a time, where he was father to many, including me. Not growing up with a father in my life, Bill Rhodes was a fine example. I appreciate how he loved us, and guided us. What a blessing he was at that time in my life. I know his loved ones will miss him. 

Bill was a kind, humble man who cared for others and loved Jesus.  The few times I heard him preach, it was obvious that he had a passion for others to know the God he served.  I know he will be so missed by many,  but what a blessing that we have a blessed hope that we will one day meet again! 
With love and prayers for comfort and peace for all the family. 

Bill Rhodes, my father-in-law, was one of kind. I loved taking rides with him into town just to run errands or to take a drive in the country. Visiting him at the car dealership. My favorite was going to Church and hear him preach.   Bill had impacted more people than he would ever know.  Bill had 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, who knew and respected him for who he was and his Faith.  His great grandson Koen loved going to visit his grandpa and sit in his lap and watch The Rifleman or some western until the news came on.   Oh, and I can forget to mention Ginger his sidekick.   Dad you will be missed, will see you again in Glory. 

My Grandfather-in-love, I hate to say, I was only blessed enough to meet you a few times. But you reminded me of my own Pastor Granddaddy, and just like him, you always exuded kindness. The way your daughters lit up when talking about how you were their hero, and how your grandchildren spoke only of your amazing ministry and all of the happy times they spent with you, I know I was blessed to marry into this wonderful family you shepherded for so many years. We love you, and painfully rejoice your homecoming. We'll see you again Papaw, God willing!

There are no words to express the love and admiration that I have for my PaPaw, Bill. Growing up and visiting with him and NaNaw in Marble Hill. Fishing at their pond and then frying up what we caught in the backyard. There are too many great memories to speak of. But there are two that will forever remain. Upon meeting Jessica, my now wife, Jessica and I hadn't announced to anyone that we were officially dating one another. Before Jessi and I left, we were saying goodbye, and PaPaw said to me, with Jessica standing right next to me, "You better take of her James." He knew what no one else did, that I would end up marrying her and end up her husband. The last memory that I have was from the past time I was able to spend time with my grandparents. My wife and l, along with our newborn Indiana, were traveling back home to Tennessee from Nebraska from dropping our other two kiddos off for visitation with their biological father. We were stopping by to stay the night to rest up and visit. Seeing my PaPaw and NaNaw hold our baby girl, whom they hadn't met yet, and love on her will be a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'm honored to know that he was able to interact with all of our family at Jessica and my wedding however, and spend even a brief time with Evelyn and Logan. 


I will always remember how selfless my Dad was. He touched so many lives and was the most important man in my life. His love and compassion for everyone else always came before his needs and wants. As heaven gained an angel the world lost a beautiful spirit. Dad you always were the strongest yet gentlest soul I've known. I want to thank you for never turning your back on me an always loving me in spite of my flaws. I will miss you dearly and I love you. 

I will miss you so much Grandpa, I know your in peace and looking over me everyday now. I’ll always remember our drive with the family when you were talking about your past life as a teen and child and showing us your old home you grew up in. I will miss you everyday ❤️. 

Rejoice my dear Father in Law for you are free.  Free of pain, free of confusion, free if illness and free to have dessert with every meal. Our time together was short but your impact on my heart is great. Rest peacefully  with the Angels in your heavenly home beside our Lord and Savior. I will  keep you in my thoughts and prayers, until we meet again .
