William (Bill) P. Lagoy Jr., age 89, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021. William was born July 13, 1931, in Amsterdam, New York, to the late William Lagoy Sr. and Mary (Sullivan) Lagoy.
William had an exciting career as an electrical engineer for Knolls Atomic Power Lab. He relocated to Bradenton, Florida, in 2009, where he was an avid golfer, playing every local course at least once. He got a hole-in-one in Cape Cod. William was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, where he participated in Knights of Columbus achieving the third degree. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and on the board of directors at Greens of Manatee Golf Course.
William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ann (Puccio) Lagoy, their three children: Michele Lagoy of San Diego,CA; Timothy Lagoy (Corinne) of Honolulu, HI and Rene Pellechia (Andrew) of Hillsboro, NH, and his grandchildren Sam, Erika, Max Lagoy and Danielle Pellecchia. Other surviving family members include his sister Margaret Allen of Fort Edwards, NY, several nephews, Bradley, Gregory, Harry and Keith Allen, a niece Bonnie Taddeo, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Phillipa Fisher and Joan Lagoy.
A Funeral Mass will occur at 1:30 pm Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 833 Magellan Dr. Sarasota, FL 34243, followed by a Visitation and Reception at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. The following morning April 22, 2021, friends are asked to join the family for a 9:30 am committal service with Army honors at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
