William F. Davis, our beloved father, passed away on November 27, 2024 after a valiant fight with cancer. Born on October 1, 1 954, in Brockton MA, William was the youngest of three children born to the late Robert and Frances Davis.
Moving to Cape Cod, MA in his younger years, Bill studied at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. It was there that he learned the skill of Auto Body, and would go on to become a prominent specialist in the field, working on the likes of Burt Reynold's famous Smokey and the Bandit car.
Upon a job offering from a friend, Bill and his family moved to Jensen Beach, FL in 1977. He went on to manage various car dealership Body Shops in the area through the years before starting his own successful body repair business in the late 90's. Bill carried that business with him when he moved to the Bradenton/Sarasota area in the mid 2000's, working and training his protege until some of his last days.
Bill was an extremely proud father, grandfather and uncle. He derived great enjoyment from coaching our softball and baseball teams in our younger years, attending sporting events, and taking trips together. Bill was a passionate sports enthusiast, especially of the Boston Celtics, the Florida Gators and the NCAA March Madness Tournament. He also enjoyed stand-up comedy, playing cards, and any time spent with family and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Frances, his brother, John Davis, and his oldest grandson, Derek Watson.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie A. Davis, and her husband Steven Burk; his son, Dr. Jeffrey M.
Davis, and his wife Natalie; his sister, Nancy Whittaker; his grandchildren, Samantha, Riley, Morgan and Chase; and numerous nieces and nephews; all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Bill's spirit will forever remain in the cherished memories of his family and friends.
