Maureen Catherine Tallon

Maureen Catherine Tallon of Lakewood Ranch, FL passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her son Steven Cassidy, her sister Regina Cosentino and her beloved toy poodle, Zoe. She is survived by her children Theresa Cassidy of Lakewood Ranch FL, Michael Cassidy of Seminole FL, Jeanine (Robert) Greer of Lincolnwood IL and two grandchildren Elyse and Miles Greer. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Helen Leitzel, Kathleen (Robert) Walters and her brother James Tallon, along with many nieces, nephews and countless wonderful friends, including her devoted friend of over 60 years, Judy, whom she cherished.

Maureen was born and raised in Philadelphia PA, the daughter of James and Veronica Tallon, and a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in 1964. She lived all of her adult life in Delaware County PA raising her family and working as a legal secretary before retiring in 2013 then moving to Florida in 2016. She was known by her family and friends for her flare for home decorating, stylish dress, and her love of shopping for anything and everything. She was an exceptional cook - especially her homemade gnocchi, meat balls and Sunday gravy, which was a family favorite.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Heron House of Sarasota for their attentiveness, kindness and care for Maureen over the last few years. We would also like to thank the Tidewell Hospice team assigned to her care late in 2023.
