Matthew J. Betley Jr.

Matt is preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Lorraine Betley.

He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; children Matthew (Amy) and Valerie Betley; stepdaughters Victoria Zeppi (Michael) and Gillian de La Sayette (Hervé); grandchildren Addison and Cole Betley, Reyna and Amado Zeppi, Ciara, Lucas, and Liam de La Sayette; and great granddaughter Noella (Zeppi) Clyne; sister Mary (Mike) Schaeffer, and brother Michael (Janet) Betley; his nephew and godson Michael Schaeffer, and many other much loved nieces and nephews.

Matt grew up in the Chicago, IL area, spent much of his adult life in Cincinnati, OH as a businessman, and then retired with his wife to the Bradenton area in 2012 to be near family. Matt was an avid, accomplished golfer – he was a former professional golfer, had four holes-in-one, and continued to be involved in the sport well into retirement.

A funeral mass for family and friends will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL on Friday, January 27th at 10:30 am. Funeral arrangements are through Robert Toale & Sons in Bradenton, FL.

The family requests any memorial donations to be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
