Len, thinking of you during your birthday week as the reminder popped up on my calendar.   That Bills-Bucs game we were going to attend together ended up being a great one - overtime!    Wish you could have been there.

I have so many memories that I I will never forget and I will never ever be able to replace. I was very blessed to have such an amazing friend, father figure, and just an amazing person in my life. He was one of the most caring and unselfish people I have ever met and those kind of people are very difficult and hard to come by nowadays. I believe that God put him in my life for a reason he was truly an angel. I will miss you so much Len, I will never forget all of the places we visited and traveled over the years and you always being there for me even when I was at my worst through my hardest times. I know you're in peace now which makes me happy it just breaks my heart terribly knowing that you're not here anymore. I know that God has you in safe hands with him and with many other people that we love.  You may not be here anymore but you will never be forgotten and you are missed and loved forever. I am so lucky to have been raised by Len. My dad was a very loving, intelligent man that served as a source of support and guidance for everyone around him. He was very well spoken, and chose his words carefully. He had an incredible sense of humor, and was making jokes with the nurses and hospital staff, right up until the end. His sense of humor was a little wry, though always in good nature.

We frequently took camping trips and adventured all across the US as a family. Some of my fondest memories with him include taking road trips. When I was 18, I decided to move across the country. Unwilling to let his daughter make that trip alone, he planned out a fun road trip from California to Michigan, making sure to stop and see the sights along the way. Years later, when he and his wife (my mom) Holly retired, we road tripped again, from Santa Cruz to Florida. Those were some of the most memorable times that I love to think back on. Road tripping, just me and my dad. He always had so much insight, it amazed me to no end. He had incredible knowledge about many things, and always believed it was important to always keep learning. 

I truly consider myself fortunate to have grown up in his care. He and my mother were exceptional, bright and talented people who loved completely, and always wanted everyone to do well. They shared a beautiful life together for decades, living in a small redwood-peppered town in the Santa Cruz mountains. The family plans to honor Len and Holly with a dual burial, their cremated remains being scattered together near the place where they met, fell in love, and raised their family.

I miss you terribly dad! I love you. ♥

When I first met Len he was riding his bicycle down and up highway 9 from Boulder Creek to Santa Cruz; a dangerous if not remarkable feat. He was quiet, but friendly and he fiercely loved my best friend Holly.

I am Erin, Len’s niece. His sister Starr is my mother.  I have MANY fond memories of him, but him driving from Florida all the way to Twin Peaks, CA just to be at my wedding was one of my favorite memories. I also lived with him for the entire summer of 2005, and we had a lot of great times. He taught me about how to take care of cast iron, tips with cooking, and had me try different types of seafood, which I ended up falling in love with. As a child, we used to spend Christmas with him almost every year and I would spend a lot of time with him and his wife Holly and those Christmas’ were the best. Not only was he amazing cook, he also made the best fudge ever and he was truly an amazing man and I looked up to him as a father figure in my life. I absolutely love him and miss him so much every single day. ❤️💔❤️
