Josette was born in Newark and grew up in West Caldwell, NJ. A graduate of Mount Saint Dominic Academy, she received a Master of Arts in Special Education from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Maine, where she also pursued coursework toward a PhD.
Josette found her calling in education, teaching first grade in both New Jersey and York, Maine, before retiring to University Park, Florida. She was beloved by students, teachers, and school administrators alike.
A woman of many talents, she spoke French, was an avid fencer, and also enjoyed cross-country skiing. She had unparalleled style and grace and was the consummate hostess, displaying an unfailing warmth and generosity of spirit towards all who entered her orbit.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Theohary, stepchildren Catherine A. Theohary of Washington, DC, Thomas A. Theohary of Warren, Vermont, and goddaughter Marissa Latshaw of Fairfield, Connecticut.
