He worked for L’Ambiance of Longboat Key for 18 years and enjoyed the people who lived there and all the friends he made over the years.
He was born in Meshoppen, PA, and attended elementary school at Mt. View High School in Kingsley, PA. John was a 1968 graduate of Southeast High School, in Bradenton, and received an Associate’s Degree from United Electronics, in Tampa, and worked for General Telephone Company.
Over the years John belonged to Moose Lodge 1319, in Sarasota, Sons of the American Legion, Fruitville, and IBEW.
John enjoyed fishing, flowers, a variety of music, and was an avid NASCAR fan as well as driving stock cars.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Whipple, of Bradenton; a sister, Susan Micciche, of Bradenton; a brother, William Whipple, of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Jeannette and Maitera; and a son, John. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Whipple; and a daughter, Jennifer Lee Whipple.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 3pm at Manasota Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave East in Bradenton.
