Jody Lynn (Zeck) Aust was born to Albert Zeck and Nancy (Benson) Zeck on December
14, 1955, at the Conde Hospital in Conde, South Dakota.
Jody was a graduate of Conde High School, Conde, South Dakota, in the Class of 1974.
She gave birth to her son "The Legend" Jeremy in 1975. She went to work at 3M in Aberdeen,
South Dakota, following graduation where she worked until 1985, when she decided to make a
move to Florida with her son after coming for a visit and falling in love with the tropical climate.
When someone would ask which Dakota she was from, North or South, her reply would always
be, "I'm from the tropical Dakota, South Dakota!"
Jody worked several different jobs after moving to Florida, one of which was Siemens in
Palmetto where she met her first husband Larry Coleman and gave birth to her daughter Kaicee
Lynn. She moved back to South Dakota with her children in 1991, and returned to Palmetto in
1995, and settled into her bartending gig at the Bayshore Inn in Palmetto where she remained
for many years.
Jody met her husband Garry Aust at the Bayshore Inn and they married on July 9, 2005.
After leaving employment at the Bayshore Inn, she went to work at the Palmetto Moose Lodge
which she planned to retire from and make a move to the beautiful mountains of Tennessee with
her husband Garry. Jody was a friend to too many people to count and was loved and admired by
all who met her.
Jody is survived by her husband Garry; her son Jeremy Zeck of Lake Preston, South
Dakota; her daughter Kaicee Lynn Coleman of Palmetto, Florida; her stepdaughter Ashley Marie
Aust of Palmetto, Florida; and grandchildren Skylar, Rheya, and Brody. She is also survived by
her brother John (Gail) Zeck of Groton, South Dakota; and sisters Joann Kroger of Palmetto,
Florida, and Janine (Bruce) Lerew of Prescott, Arizona, along with several nieces and nephews.
Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Nancy Zeck, and brother-in-law Bruce
Lerew.
Jody and her incredible sense of humor, quick wit and comebacks will definitely be
missed by everyone that knew her. She was always the life of the party wherever she went and
absolutely loved living life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for October 1, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at the Palmetto Moose
Lodge, 203 9th St. Dr. W, Palmetto, FL 34221.
In lieu of cards and flowers, a donation can be made to the Mooseheart in Jody's name.
Rest in peace, our sweet Jody, until we meet again.
