Eugene Paul Clark

2022. He was 87 years old.

Born in Massillon, Ohio on July 17, 1934, to Charles and Clara Clark, Gene

graduated from Harding High School, Fairport Harbor, Ohio in 1952. Before

retiring, he worked as a baker and machine operator. Gene is preceded in

death by his father, Charles Henry Clark, his mother Clara Mary Clark (née

Maier), and brothers, Chuck, Bob, and Jim.

Gene is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Mary Anne (née Emsley),

whom he first saw on water skis and followed her home. They were married on

September 15, 1956.

Gene was a proud dad to his four children, Debbie (Ed) of Virginia, Don (Missy)

of Georgia, David (Christy) of Florida, Dale (Karen) of Georgia. He helped

coach multiple sports teams, and never missed an opportunity to attend his kids’

school and sporting events.

Gene was also an adored grandfather to 11 grandchildren, and 4 great

grandchildren and got great pleasure when sharing their accomplishments with

anyone and everyone he met. They fondly remember his famous Christmas

Cutout Cookies, and his booming laugh.

Gene enjoyed the water, boating, golf, softball, motorcycles, and

woodworking. He loved to share high school football stories, and never forgot a

face or name. He never met a stranger, and helped anyone in need which

worked out well, because Mary Anne was forever volunteering his talents for

fixing and building things. He loved to bake and enjoyed supplying cookies and

cakes to everyone he knew.

Most of all he loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and forever in

our hearts.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 7 pm on Thursday, February 17 at Robert Toale

and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave E,

Bradenton, FL 34203. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 18

at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Drive, Sarasota, FL

34243. Committal Service will be held at 2 pm at Manasota Memorial Park.
