David attended Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, MS, class of 1980 and then Tennessee Technological University, Class of 1987, becoming a Civil Engineer and eventually owning TPH Civil, LLC.
In his spare time, David enjoyed his church in which he taught bible classes, helped start Lads to Leaders and taught apologetics. He enjoyed reading, especially about the Civil War and General Grant. Growing up, he loved to play softball, golf, and listen to music.
David is predeceased by his Father David P. Hammer.
David is survived by his wife, Jody (Compton) Hammer, Mother Sharon Ann (Brown) Hammer, Son Tate P. Hammer, Brother Jeff (Michelle) Hammer, Sisters Mary (Pat) Moore and Laura (Kevin) Doerr, 11 Nieces and nephews, and 3 Great Nieces and Nephews.
