Mrs. Charlene Adkins, 80, returned to her heavenly home at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018. She was born April 25th, 1938 in Pelham, Georgia to Jim and Annie Mobley. Funeral services will be held at Happy Gospel Church in Bradenton at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 31st with Rev. Bill Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 10:30 a.m. until service time, at the church.
Charlene was a Christian and love the Lord with all her heart. She loved her husband Eugene, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a nurse for forty years and enjoyed her profession - always caring for others.
Charlene is survived by six children, Mike (Debbie) Adkins, Jim (Myra) Adkins, Don Adkins, Karen (David) Hardy, Kenneth Adkins, and Kimberly (Mike Horton); eleven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and one brother in Georgia.
Mrs. Adkins is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, of 59 years; two daughter-in-laws, Susan and Kim; and eight siblings.
