Annie (June) Merritt, 80, of Bradenton, passed away Sat. March 14, 2015. Born March 31, 1934, in Lake Placid, FL, she was a daughter of the late Corlis Mathis and Bea Mathis Stroud. She was the wife of the late Moses M. Rowell for 25 years, who passed in 1975, and her second husband, Earl R. Merritt, of 36 years, who passed in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roland Mathis, who passed in 1994. She is survived by her daughters, Jenny Etchison and Cathy Pemelman; sons, Michael Rowell and wife Joyce, and Mitchell Rowell; sister, Margaret Stephens; 6 grandchildren, Marli Chivers, Chuck Gormley, Angela Pemelman, Tera Garner, Matthew Rowell, and Joshua Rowell, as well as 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Friday, March 20, at Manasota Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Sat. March 21, at the funeral home.
