William J. Miller, age 76, husband of Elaine M. (Sperring) of Gilbertsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Born in Reading, PA on April 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Ruth H. (Heinley) and LaVerne S. Miller.
William worked at the Boyertown Casket Company as an Assistant Receiving Clerk. He also worked as an Assistant Manager for Rite Aid, a laborer at Synenergy, and worked at Toyota in Limerick, PA. He was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville, PA. William was a jack of all trades. He loved to perform, he sang in chorus, played the bass and tuba, and played in a bell choir for a time. He was also a painter, who especially loved to create nativity sets. William tended to his flower gardens; he had a green thumb. He was the happy owner of an African Gray Parrot, to whom cared very much. William loved the beach, making many trips to Cape May. He was also a socialite, a person who could make friends with everyone he met. Most of all, William loved his family.
William is survived by his wife, Elaine M. (Sperring); daughters, Jennifer L. MacDonald of Gilbertsville, PA, Erin B. Gaver of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Jack Miller, husband of Karen; aunt, Sylvia Eversole; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Jennings MacDonald, Jared Gaver, and Sara Gaver; nieces Julianne Miller, Alexandra Miller, and Tori Anderson; 1 nephew, Andrew Miller; and great-niece, Gemma Miller. He is predeceased by his wife, Sharon (Ruppert) of Bechtelsville, PA who passed away in 2006.
A memorial service in William’s honor will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville, PA on August 27, 2022, at 11 am. A visitation will be held prior from 10 am to 11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
