Betty Jane (Levan) Seifrit, age 80, wife of Kenneth L. Seifrit of Douglassville, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Manatawny Manor in Pottstown, PA.
Born at home in Boyertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rachel L. (Reinert) and William H. Levan. Growing up, she went to the schools of the Boyertown School District. Betty attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sassamansville, PA. As an adult, she worked in multiple manufacturing plants. Betty was an employee of Boyertown Packaging, Boyertown Body Work, Hub Tools, and Yuasa Battery before she retired in 2011.
Betty enjoyed caring for others; her hospitality was open to all. From fostering and adopting children, to letting people spend the night in her home, and watching over the grand and great-grandchildren of the family, Betty’s kindness extended to anyone in need.
Betty loved horses. As her children grew up, she volunteered at the Berks 4-H Horse Program. She also took care of the horses on her farm; she was especially fond of her brown mini horse named Cocoa. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her fish pond. Betty was a great baker and cook as well.
Betty is survived by her husband to whom she married in 1965; her daughters, Heather Heffner, wife of Nathan, and Deborah Michalowski, wife of Stephan; her son, Harold Schlegel; her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Toby, Mackenzie, Chase, and Cora; and great-grandchildren, Kylee and Aubree. She is also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
