I met Tom while in the Air Force.  He always gave me credit for introducing him to Ellen.  He was a wonderful person, always full of mischief lol.  I kept contact w/him throughout my Air Force career and we sent Christmas cards to one another for many years .  Now the lord has decided to bring Tom home to the heavens.  I'm sure upon entering that golden gate, the stars and lights all illuminated and all present rejoiced in his spirit.  Give em Heaven Tom and take care of things until Ellen gets there.  I may be going in another direction lol, just keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I first met Tom at Gwynn Park High School and after his accidental injury at work,  Tom and I shared an enormous amount of information regarding his and my own on the job injury. 
Since I have had a difficult time the last two years, I was not aware that Tom had passed. I left messages for him that were not returned, so I knew something must have happened to my dear friend.
Although the County we worked in gave Tom a very difficult time after his injury, he always had a joke or smile on his face. He never gave up and I am shocked today to learn of his passing. I will miss our conversations over the phone and Tom's inspiring way of making things funny and acceptable; even though most times they were not.
I hope Tom is with God now and finally without pain and in peace.  I am very sad you are gone from this earth my friend and I hope some day to see you again in heaven.

Mr. Tom Nicholas was influential on my Martial Arts journey.  He was a Master level practitioner in Tang Soo Do. He bestowed his Third Degree Midnight Blue belt on me when I passed my own Third Degree Midnight Blue belt exam which was a great honor. He was very supportive and patient with the students in our Martial Arts school.  His energy will be greatly missed.  Rest easy Master Nicholas. Tang Soo!

Mr. Tom was a wonderful neighbor and friend to us over the years and quickly became family. He was forever willing to listen, offer advice, and lend a helping hand without hesitation and he will be dearly missed. The neighborhood just isn't the same without him.

We have lived in our home for forty years.  Most of those years Tom and Ellen have been our neighbors.  Tom was a great person, neighbor, teacher, veteran and member of our community.  He always had time to stop and talk, always asking how we were doing and if he could help us in any way.  We shared many stories of growing up in Pennsylvania and also about our love of our precious  cats!  He was a friend you could count on and was a major figure in the neighborhood.  We miss his presence already.  He will always remain here in our hearts.  Our prayers and sympathy go to Ellen and Annemarie and all the family.

I remember him tutoring me on criminal law, paralegalling, and jurisprudence...
The three branches of government; 
He loved his coffee and his stories in the service....Definitely loved his teaching skills and baritone "daddy- like"demeanor....
I also remember him breaking up high school fights; not minding putting himself in  harms way to protect others.
He was really a father figure to me as well...

When I think of my memories from Gwynn Park three names pop into my head immediately: Mrs. Cunningham, Dr. Vann, and Mr. Nick.  Mr. Nick invested so much time into his students, and he gave so unselfishly. When no other adults wanted to sponsor my class he allowed us to use his space to meet and work and in that time gave us the keys to winning. "To win, you got to play the game, but to play the game you got to know the rules". I still use that advice as an adult, and I will be eternally grateful for his nurturing spirit and kind heart. GPHS Class of 1999....never forget the BLACK OUT.

Rest well Mr. Nick! He fueled my passion for history/social studies and he made learning fun! I will also remember the “pep talk” he gave when I got into some trouble and the fact that he cared made me want to do better in school and be better in life. It’s rare to find teachers who really care and he was one. Gonna miss you sir…thank you for everything!

Mr Nicholas was one of my favorite teachers in high school. When I think back about high school I remember things he taught us in his classes. I ran into Mr Nick a few years ago on my job and he remembered who I was. Someone asked him if he needed help and he said no I have my student here to help me. He was a wonderful man and will truly be missed.

Our dearly loved client and friend, Mr Tom Nicholas will be remembered as a kind and generous man. His jovial nature was most evident when he spoke of his family and friends, both human and feline. Mr Nicholas loved taking great care of his cats. At Belair Veterinary Hospital, we loved being instrumental in his quest. All were loved, but a few held a  special place in his heart. He was also a true American and loved this country. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched, of which I am one. We prayed for each other's health concerns and rejoiced in the blessings God bestowed. I pray his lovely wife and family find comfort during their time of mourning. May his spirit be lifted unto the heavens and welcomed into God's eternal kingdom.  In remembrance always,

Mr. Nick was a lot of things to me. First my teacher, he was the absolute best. His passion and enthusiasm for teaching was really something special. We kept in touch long after graduating in 1996. He became a mentor to me, his words and encouragement got me through a lot of difficult times in my life. I truly don’t know where I’d be without his guidance. Prayers and love to his family. I am a former student(class of 1996) of Mr. Nicolas. I have very fond memories of his passion and energy and teaching. I never knew that government could be fun! He was more than a teacher to all of us he was a mentor and a friend. He will be greatly missed.

I first met Mr. Nicholas at Myungs Karate Academy. Mr. Nicholas was a Black Belt when I started and he eventually made the Rank of Master. He was always very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and nice. Rest in Piece Mr. Nicholas.

My last contact with Tom was about 3 months ago,and the entire conversation was sharing the things we learned from Sabum nim .He told me that the best way to remember his father was to implement the thing he taught me into my life. I’ll always remember Tom with a smile on his face.Will miss talking to him from time to time.but greatful he’s with his father on earth and his father in Heaven , RSP my brother your TKD brother Jose

Mr. Nick was a great teacher. He took several of us to Jesup State Prison for the scared straight program. At that time in my life it was exactly what I needed. Thanks to Mr Nick, I became a police officer. I will never forget you sir. I know you will always be looking over us from heaven.  God bless you and your family. Rest easy sir. You blessed so many peoples lives and earned your reward.

Mr. Nick was one of my favorite teachers at Gwynn Park ! He mentored me and I became his aid as a senior ! He was so invaluable to his students not only as a teachers but as a person who truly cared ! Prayers to his wife and family ! He was one of a kind and will truly be missed

His mom's next door neighbor.  Tom was one of the kindest men I've ever met. He always remembered me at Christmas, with a metal engraved tree ornament of the White House, helicopter, always something patriotic.  I will truly miss him.  God bless you, rest in peace my friend. 

Sending sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of dear “Mr. Nick.” As a class of 91 graduate, he was our class sponsor, mentor, counselor, friend and teacher.   He was there to listen to our angst and problems that seemed so overwhelming to our teenage perspective.  He truly made a difference in my life and always encouraged me, even later in life when he was on Facebook.  What a treat to catch up with him and reconnect.  He will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness, compassion and wisdom.  
May those who surround you during this difficult time bring you peace and comfort.
