Michael was my oldest and dearest friend.  Everyone who lived in Cleveland on East 107th street, knew the joy, the love, and especially the laughter that spilled out from that beautiful red brick street.
   I can close my eyes, and see and feel the games of Tag and Hide and Seek. I will always remember, the one time when I found the perfect hiding place  (Mr. Thomas side yard), Michael and his brother Duffy came running to hide in My PLACE. I was so mad because  I didn’t want to get caught.  I told Michael years later I wasn’t  quite sure of the words, “ All the outs are in free”. I had always believed they were hollering Alley, alley are free. Lol
   Oh, what great friendships we made that lasted a lifetime. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

My fond memory of going on to the Howlands sitting the breakfast nook laughing and talking with his sister Maryann he would come in and talk to us like we were kids.  You will be miss greatly even though you lived out of state. 107 street Forever

Dear Michael,

Over the past 2 years we have grown increasingly close talking on
the phone at length about all sorts of things including us being great-
grands.  You have made me crack up with laughter over your wit
and observation of world affairs.
You would call on occasion to just give Lonnie kudos on the role
model he was to the young men in our family.
It was so much fun bringing you up to date on family history.  I will
miss those conversations.
Lonnie and I bid you a loving farewell. Rest in Paradise dear cousin.


I grew up with Micheal and his siblings on the east side of Cleveland Ohio.  On the same street, 3 houses apart on the opposite side.  My mother was very happy when I was Micheal and Geoffrey Howland, and Curtis Uitenham.  Not so happy when I hung out with the other boys.  Now I can look back thru time and understand why.  Geoffrey’s comment about him and brother in crime makes me chuckle.   Good boys that turned into men with good and moral character.

Sadly I am going to miss Micheal not being on this earth.  But fortunately  I got to talk with Micheal before his death.  May he Rest In Peace.

Cousin Michael had a wonderful spirit. He was funny and had a great laugh. He loved Dodge cars which he shared with my Dad (Uncle Billy).  We will all miss him.

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing, our friendship goes back to the days we car pooled while working in downtown Washington DC .  (What a Motley crew we were.).   After retirement,  Mike was instrumental along with Charlie Harris in orchestrating monthly lunch get togethers, keeping the members of the car pool in touch with one another.  He always was upbeat, had a story to share and was  willing to accommodate those of us who were more senior. I will miss his phone calls and friendship.  George Pennington


 

Dad, it's so difficult to find the words...I just want you to know that you meant the world to me. You were my father, my best friend, my hero, my rock and my strength. Every hug, every talk, every laugh, every moment, was love. As we walked so far together in faith, I know I will see you again, and I thank God for every day He gave us. I miss you so much and I love you eternally. Your daughter,

Michael was my "Big Brother", he was my partner in crime back on the block and he was my friend and I will mess him dearly.  He and I were like run and re-run throughout our childhood and we got in as much trouble as we could.  I helped him on his paper route and we shoveled our neighbor's snow together.  We really had fun.    I am moving soon and was so looking forward to being able to drop by his house and watch NASCAR with him.  He fought the good fight and truly showed his strength, love and humor till the end.  My heart aches, but I know he is resting now and at peace.


Michael and I went all the way back to my early days at IRS.  When we moved to New Carrollton, Mike would share stories about his family, working out,  challenges of the job and life in general.  Once he retired, we talked every now and again and shared a lot of laughs about those early days.  My friend will be missed.  RIP Mike 🙏🏾.

I would see Michael in the cafeteria and through the hallways in NCFB all the time.  Such a polite and friendly guy.  Condolences to his family and friends.  RIP King💐

SORRY FOR YOUR Loss Michael work with me at SOI and later at New Carrollton  he was a very  good  guy.
