On June 30, 2023, Clark Benjamin Bower Brown, 55 of Clarksville, MD passed away after a long illness. Clark, a twin and the youngest of four, was born on April 15, 1968, to Robert and Nancy Brown of Bowie Maryland. Clark’s brother-in-law John Nelson gave him the nickname “Heavy C” which Clark loved to use.
Clark and his twin brother David had a special bond and of course got in mischief together while growing up. Both boys loved riding bikes, jumping off bike ramps, digging big holes, jumping off things and being dare devils.
After graduating from Bowie High School, Clark went on to Prince Georges Community College to study Food Service Management.
Clark worked for the City of Bowie in the road maintenance division for many years. He also worked for Crofton Nursing Home doing food service, but the job he enjoyed the most was driving different cars for the Maryland Auto Auction, sometimes he got to drive Lexus, BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars.
Clark spent 50 years in Bowie, Maryland before moving to Clarksville, Maryland. Growing up, Clark was involved with the Boy Scouts and Bowie Boys Club Sports. Clark was an avid reader and loved sports including Penn State Football, Washington Commanders (Red Skins) Football, Orioles Baseball, the Rodeo, and professional wrestling- Hulk Hogan was his all time favorite. Clark also had a passion for big trucks and would visit the local truck stops to take pictures of the “Big Rigs” and talk to the drivers.
Clark’s love of sports inspired him to collect football and baseball sports memorabilia and he enjoyed photography and swimming.
Clark’s two favorite places to visit were his family’s dairy farm in Blain PA and going to the beach at Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Clark cared about people and always showed a personal interest in them by asking how they were doing. He was smart, kind and had a gift for remembering facts about people and events. Clark always expressed his appreciation even for the simplest gestures. Clark had a great sense of humor and looked on the bright side of life no matter what challenges he faced even as his health failed. He had the ability to find happiness in daily activities. But the one thing Clark will be remembered for the most was the tremendous love he had to for his family, friends and Jehovah God. Clark enjoyed studying the Bible.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Brown, sisters Rebecca Whalen (Richard), Tami Nelson (John), twin brother David Brown (Suzanne). Uncle Merritt Brown Jr. (Eileen), Nieces: Rachel Swanson (Jared), Oliva Brown, nephew: Matt Brown. Great Nephews: Parker and Presley Swanson.
