Robert & Ginny grew up in Hanover where they went to school together. They came to the Cape through the military in 1965 and moved to Pocasset in 1973. Ginny was a special needs teaching assistant in the Bourne Schools for twelve years. As the mother of a special needs child, Ginny understood the children she worked with. Ginny volunteered at the Falmouth Hospital Rehabilitation Clinic in Bourne for a number of years. In addition to this, she was at one time a volunteer at the Cape Cod Council on Aging and with the ARC, an organization that advocates for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She was a member of the HONS-Helping Our Noble Shriners, and she served on the human rights committee for HAC. Ginny owned her own yarn shop in the 70’s.
In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Studley of Merrimack, NH, Debra L. Cyr & her husband, Michael of Hudson, FL, Judy Shorrock and her husband, John of Pocasset, Charles “Chuck” Studley of Williamsburg, VA and the late Phil Carroll Studley. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Gaidys of Randolph, VT. She was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A visitation period with the family will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, May 30, in the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home located at 40 MacArthur Blvd in Bourne. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, June 1st, at the Cape Cod Church on route 151 in East Falmouth followed by a time of fellowship with the family. Burial will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ginny may be made to the May Institute, Office of Philanthropy, 41 Pacella Park Drive, Randolph, MA 02368.
