Stephen was the beloved husband and best friend of Frances A. (Webber) Forgeron. Devoted father of Linda (Forgeron) Trabucco and her husband Daniel, Stephen Forgeron jr. and his wife Elaine (Osborne) of Colorado, Christopher Forgeron, and his wife Toshiko (Fujita). Cherished grandfather of Christina, Ryan, Brendan, Skyla, Lia, Cassandra, and Samantha, who gave Stephen his first great-grandchild Aaliyah-Marie. Cherished brother to the late Richard, David, and Grace, survived by Roger, William, his brother and friend, and his wife Linda of Mashpee.
Stephen was born in Cambridge and settled with his family in Dorchester, before moving to Braintree and then retiring in Mashpee. Stephen had a love for the water and enjoyed his childhood summer vacations in Falmouth, loving his time at the beach, clamming, quahogging, and sailing.
This passion led Stephen to join the US Navy in 1961, where he actively served until 1967. He was a Quartermaster on the USS Francis Marion (APA-249) and participated in the Naval Blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later joined the US Navy Reserve and retired after twenty years of combined service.
When Stephen returned home, he worked as a City of Boston Tow truck driver and worked all night keeping the roads clear during the Blizzard of ’78. He later worked for his brother’s company, Richard’s Chimney, and proudly became owner of the company himself after it was passed on down to him. As an active and energetic person, it was difficult for him to retire, and he never did slow down.
Stephen enjoyed sailing and boating all throughout his life. His love for the beach never left him. He relaxed at home reading sci-fi novels and intently followed the Red Sox and Patriots.
