He was raised by his grandparents Loretta and Roy Melcher whom he called mom and dad from the time of his birth.
Ron grew up in Bourne, Massachusetts where he attended Bourne High School graduating in 1994. He joined the United States Air Force in 2001 and served as a Crew Chief on F-16 fighter jets. His enthusiasm and love for Boston sports and Duke Basketball was unrivaled. He enjoyed throwing darts and horseshoes as well as playing pool and foosball with his many friends and family members. Ron also had a tenderness in his heart for all animals and was particularly fond of huskies, adopting many pups over the years. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Melcher and brother Richard Melcher.
Ron is survived by his mother Loretta Melcher, biological mother Tammy Lashley, son Riley Melcher, and daughter Natalia Gauthier as well as siblings Daniel Melcher, Tanya Franklin, John Melcher, Kenneth Melcher, Michael Melcher, Gerald Melcher, Nicholas Melcher, Donald Melcher, Jeffrey Lashley and Jennifer Fougere. Cousins, nieces and nephews Chris, Jonathan, Patrick, William, Diana, Richard, Roy, Kenneth, William, Robert, Lisa, John, Britany, Payton, Kyle, Madison, Jackson, Easton and his beloved dog Grey Wind.
A service honoring the life of Ron Melcher will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne Massachusetts on January 4, 2024.
