Robert "Bob" Lewis Long Sr.

Robert (“Bob”) Lewis Long Sr., age 78, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024 at home. Son of Pauline Mosher and the late Elmer Long, Bob was born in Brockton, Massachusetts. After graduating from Whitman-Hanson High School, Bob joined the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country. He then went on to receive a degree in accounting and worked as an accountant for his whole life.

Bob loved spending time with his family, his children, and grandchildren. Bob was a passionate baseball fan and an avid collector of baseball cards. If there was a Red Sox game on, Bob was certainly watching with a cigar in hand. He was also a collector of nautical items.

Bob is survived by his mother, Pauline (Mosher) Long; Paula (Lincoln) O’Loughlin, his former wife; their beloved three children, Robert Long Jr., Allison Bouchard and her husband Mark Bouchard and their two children, Brianna and Brooke; Timothy Long and his two children, Ashlynn and Nicholas; his three brothers, David Long, Stephen Long, and Daniel Long, along with their spouses; and several nieces and nephews whom Bob greatly adored. Bob is preceded by his father, Elmer Long Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 18th from 11:30-12:30 pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA with a service to follow at 12:30pm. Burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30pm.
