Lita Mae Gasper, 82, of Monument Beach passed away peacefully on March 14th surrounded by her family. Born in Boston on May 3, 1940 to Wallia and John Stabers, Lita attended Girls Latin School, followed by Northeastern University where she earned degrees in English and Biology. Lita began her career as an elementary school teacher in Sandwich, and later worked for the New England Telephone Company for over 25 years. Lita and her husband John were married for 60 years and raised their family in Buzzards Bay and Monument Beach, where they owned and operated Twin Gardens Greenhouses for 25 years. Lita will be remembered for her deep love of family, exceptional cooking, and her zest for life. She adored animals, especially her beloved dog, Jake. Lita enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage and card games with friends, and sharing her love through food. Over the years, she enjoyed travelling with her grandchildren, visiting places like Copper Canyon, Mexico, Iceland, and Latvia. An avid reader with a wicked sense of humor, Lita lived life to the fullest and was a "hot ticket" until the end. She was loved and will be missed by so many. Lita was predeceased by her sister Janis. She is survived by her husband John, daughter Karyn (Scott) Crocker, son John Peter Gasper III, son Neale (Jane) Gasper, granddaughter Hannah (Michael) Donovan, grandson Andrew Crocker, sister Mahrheahnnah (Dan) Ostroth, and brother John (Joey) Stabers. A private service will be held to celebrate Lita's life.
