Dana Allison Palmer, 73, of Bournedale, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth. Dana was born at Tobey Hospital to the late William E. Palmer, Sr. and Roma J. Palmer. He graduated from Bourne High School and received a BA in Fire Sciences from Cape Cod Community College. He was a proud member of the Bourne Fire Department for 37 years. While on the department he helped deliver two baby boys.
Survived by his loving wife, Donna (Lloyd) and his adored children, Elizabeth Strid her husband, Jarrod Strid and his son, Benjamin Palmer and his cherished grandchildren, Jamie Wing, William Strid, Roma Strid and Owen Palmer. Also survived by his brother, Lance and his wife, Karen, his nieces, Kelley McAdams, Samantha Rocha, Danielle Palmer, Laura Palmer and Kristine Secher as well as his cousins, Jane Decker, Esther Grady, Rebecca Upton, Philip Upton and Norman Upton. Plus a few close friends since childhood, you know who you are and thank you for the memories. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, William and Walter.
If you ever wanted to find Dana, you could always find him in his greenhouse and garden which he cultivated for over 50 years!
A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2024 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m.
