Cathy was raised in Andover, Massachusetts by her parents, Thomas Farragher and Margaret Garvey. She was a proud graduate of Punchard High School in Andover, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Muise. Cathy and Ron shared 64 years of marriage. They raised their family in Melrose and Mansfield before moving to Cape Cod 23 years ago.
Catherine graduated from the Perry Normal School of Teaching and Suffolk University. She was very proud of her Master of Social Work from Cambridge College, which she attained after raising her four children. After teaching preschool and elementary school for many years, her compassionate nature led her to a career in social work with New Hope of Attleboro.
Cathy was the beloved bride of Ronald Muise who preceded her in death by only 17 days. She is survived by her son, Douglas Muise, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Muise) and Peter Pascucci, her son and daughter-in-law, Dana Muise and Leigh Beisch, and her son, Bradley Muise. She was the best “Nana” to her grandchildren, Amy (Pascucci) and Xavier Brown, April Pascucci, Luke Pascucci, Eva Muise, and Lucinda Muise. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and John Farragher.
Cathy took exceptional care of her loved ones and was a calming presence to everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending car shows with Ron in his Corvair, and exploring new ways to help others, such as learning reiki and volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, knitter, and houseplant enthusiast.
A visitation will take place Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home; 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA; followed by a service held in her honor at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30PM.
