Carol’s formative years were spent in Niantic, CT where she had many happy memories and had kept many of her friends from their school days. Carol earned a B. S. in Nutrition from Framingham State College, a Dietetic Internship with Eastman Kodak Company, and an M.A. in Adult Education from the University of Rhode Island. Her long career in Nutrition and Food Safety led her to interesting positions at Claremore, OK Indian Hospital, Stouffers at M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA, Rhode Island Hospital and Rhode Island College.
For 40 years, she lived in Fall River, MA, serving as a minister’s wife. In 2006, she moved to Sagamore Beach where she retired and achieved her dream of living full time at the ocean. She valued keeping in close contact with her friends and relatives from around the U.S. and the world. Her interests included gardening, crafts, genealogical research, and American History.
Carol considered her major accomplishment and joy in life to be her beloved family. She is survived by daughter Dana Sue Fitzpatrick and son Dustin Mier and his wife Erica, and five adored grandchildren – Jacob, Hezekiah, Lily Sue, Ezra, and Nehemiah.
Services will be held at Swift Memorial United Methodist Church in Sagamore Beach on Saturday, October 23. Visitation at 10 A.M. and the memorial service at 11 A.M.
