Barbara Katherine Baker

BAKER, Barbara Katherine (Lenz), 100 of Bourne, MA, passed away peacefully at Heritage at Falmouth on December 22, 2021. She was born in Boston, MA to the late Theodore F. and Katherine B. Lenz (Bitzer) on May 26, 1921.

Barbara grew up in West Roxbury, where she graduated from Roslindale High School in 1940. In 1942, she married her husband Alden Ames Baker and they built their home and family in Buzzards Bay. They shared 70 years of marriage before Alden's passing in 2012. She was a past member of the Bourne Junior Women's Club and Bourne United Methodist Church and worked managing the Buzzards Bay Jewelry Store for 23 years. Barbara was a loving matriarch, preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Barbara Katherine Clark who died in 1973. She is survived by her daughter Carol Johnson of Monument Beach, her grandson David Clark of Dagsoboro, DE, his wife Tracy and their children, David and Allyson, and grandson, Matthew Johnson of Wakefield, MA, his wife Ehrin and their children, Ellery and Maddie.

A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 29th at 11am at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, Ma. Visitation will be prior from 9-11am. Burial will follow at Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.
