Born September 14, 1929 in Providence, RI to Arthur R. Hallam and Catherine (Henneberry) Hallam, Arthur was predeceased by his sister Joan Clossick of RI, and his wife Alma Claire Handy Hallam, of Bourne.
Arthur leaves behind his wife Ona Hallam, of Mashpee; his children: Arthur R. Hallam, III (wife Katherine) of Bourne; Michelle Cruise (husband Jay) of Cape Cod; Michael Hallam (wife Kathleen) of Bourne; Robert Hallam (wife Susan) of Barnstable; and Christine Pincelli (husband Timothy) of Connecticut; his step-daughters: Ellen Perz of Wakefield, RI, and Susan Derderian of Warwick, RI. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
Arthur served in the United States Army from 1947-1957. He was a 1st Lt. in the 43rd Division, 103rd Field Artillery Battalion, and served during the Korean War. Upon retirement, Arthur married and raised five children with his wife Alma, in Bourne.
Arthur had a lifetime career as an engineer in the maritime construction industry. He worked with Campanella & Cardi, Hydro Dredge Corp., Maitland Brothers Corp., Atkinson-Kiewit Construction and Modern Continental. Most recently, he worked for the Island Queen, in Falmouth, Mass.
He was active in the Bourne Youth Hockey Program, and a business owner in Wareham and Falmouth. Arthur was an avid gardener.
Arthur’s quiet humor, his gentle and generous nature will be missed by all.
