Jude was born in Streator, Illinois on December 20, 1949.
He is survived by his sisters Joanne Brothers, Claudia Kralovec (Graham), Alice Nye, brother Robert Brothers, nephews Mike (Kelly) and Nick (Kayla) Doerr and nieces Maia (Camron) Holmes, Kira Holmes, and Delaney Trimble Root (Todd). He is preceded in death by his mother, Harriette Brothers Kralovec and sister Susan B. Doerr.
Jude spent most of his life in the Chicago area. He attended St Edmunds in Oak Park, St Joseph’s in Addison and graduated from Riverside -Brookfield HS. He was trained as a barber but always went back to food service. He was a co-owner of a sandwich/pizza shop in Sandwich, Illinois and a long-time employee at Papa Passero’s in Westmont. Jude retired with a pension from the Table Mesa King Soopers in 2019.
Jude loved to develop recipes and make food. He had his own special recipes for Sport pepper giardiniera, spaghetti sauce, Italian beef, garlic bread, dry rub for pork and knew how to bake perfect salmon. He was generous with the food he made, sharing his special BLT with red peppers with family and friends. If he could find something to make you happy, Jude would provide it. We will all remember the year of mint M and M’s! He found his reward and joy in the pleasure others found in his gifts. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and recipes. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and co-workers.
There will be a family burial on February 23, 2024 at Mt, Olivet Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois at 11 am followed by a memorial brunch at Papa Passero’s in Westmont, Illinois at 1pm.
