April 27, 2020 at the age of 58.
Joel is survived by his wife; Holly Enes, children; daughter Abby Keefe and husband George
Keefe, son Evan Perlman and wife Heather Collins, daughter Sara Perlman, grandchildren Levi
Perlman and Olivia Perlman. Also survived by his sisters Mila and Wendy and their families.
Joel was born in Cleveland, OH on June 29, 1961 to Eunice Polacek and Sheldon Perlman. He
moved with his family to Denver, CO as a young child where he grew up and played just about
every sport but excelled as a pitcher in baseball. Joel went to Junior College in Garden City,
Kansas for baseball and then received a full ride scholarship to Texas Christian University
where he was then drafted for the White Socks Organization. He also played baseball in
Adelaide, Australia.
Joel was a devoted father and loved coaching his kids in all sports. He was known for being
loud and proud on the sidelines cheering all of his children on, especially Sara when she would
play competitive soccer in Texas. When Sara got her college scholarship for soccer he was
beyond excited and would try and make it to Arkansas as much as possible to cheer her on.
Joel was a great friend to many and enjoyed his time playing poker and watching sports. He
loved more than anything being a grandfather and the room would light up when he was with
them.
