She was born to the late D. Ivan Gill, adopted father L.B. Reese and Erma Mae Tatum in Gordon, Arkansas on July 9, 1933. She married Johnnie Charles Ingram on February 8, 1952 in San Diego, California where Johnnie was a sailor in the United States Navy and she was a cook. They had six children, Brenda Ingram-Lyle, Lois Ann Ingram, Douglas Johnson, Johnnie Jr, Eugene Ingram and Mary Ingram. Eugene Ingram and Mary Ingram. They have a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She retired as a head cook for the Los Angles School District. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Los Angles, California for over forty years and a member of Second Baptist Church in Boulder, Colorado. She loved the Lord and was a perfect example of Christian love, compassion and devotion. She was loved by everyone! No one in her family or circle of friends can recall a time when she ever raised her voice, spoke out in anger, was judgmental or was unforgiving of any trespass against her. She truly loved unconditional. She spent countless hours writing Christmas cards, birthday cards and just little notes to let people know how much she loved and appreciated them. She asked for very little life, but gave way more than any of us truly deserved.
