Grace M. Gonzalez of Boulder, passed away on February 14, 2014. She was 64. She was born in New York, New York to Grace Araya and Santiago Araya. Grace grew up in New York and later Miami, Florida. However, after visiting Colorado in 1974, she fell in love with mountains and made Boulder County her home. She worked at the University of Colorado in Boulder for several years before earning her Bachelors of Nursing degree in 1990. After graduation, she worked at Avista Hospital in Louisville as a nurse in the Family Care unit. Grace loved animals and made it mission to protect animals in any way she could. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Noel Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughter Yvette, her grandchildren Everett and Kaitlyn, her sister Yolanda, her nieces Linda and Lori and her nephew Ron. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Friday February 28, 2014 at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Pl., Boulder, CO.
