On December 9, 2022, George was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at the age of 87, joining his parents, Shirl and Elizabeth Peters.
He was raised on a farm near Chandler, MN. After graduating at the young age of 17 from Chandler High School, George headed off to Grand Rapids, MI to attend & graduate from Calvin College/University.
Between 1960-1964 George taught mathematics at Fremont Christian School in Fremont, MI; Married Beverly Kooiman, and graduated with his Masters Degree from George Peabody/Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He joined IBM and moved with his family to Poughkeepsie, NY.
In 1965, he relocated with IBM to Boulder, CO where he worked as a Systems Analyst and Programmer for 29 years. He was also active in Real Estate Investments throughout those years. Since 1965, George was a committed member at Crestview Christian Church. He served on their council board, ushered & taught many classes.
He was an avid skier and golfer, and loved to travel.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, George says "goodbye for now" to daughter, Denise Ebels, sons Mark and Douglas (Deanna) Peters and grandchildren, Lauren Ebels, Michaela Peters/Royer (Brian), Kelsey Peters and Micah (Gil) Gilmore. Also to his siblings: Henry & Adrianne Peters-DeKruif, Stanley & Joan Peters, Alvin & Dorothy Kooiman-Vis, LaVern (Butch) & Sheila Kooiman, Moe & Connie Kooiman-Hamming, Marshall (Bud) & Roxanne Kooiman and CJ Taylor. Many nieces and nephews were also enjoyed & loved throughout his life.
He celebrates with his deceased parents, Shirl & Elizabeth Peters, his in laws, Herman Kooiman & Cora Kooiman-Bothof (Henry), sisters & brother-in-law; Willys & Aleanor Kooiman-Kruisselbrink-Taylor, Marilyn Peters and nephew, Stacey L. Kooiman.
