Arthur Richard (Dick) Attridge peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 8, 2019 in Louisville, Colorado at the age of 89. He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Ann Attridge (Snyder), who was the love of his life. The two met at a produce market with a wink and a smile and even after almost 70 years of marriage Dick still started Pat’s day off with his bright smile.
Dick was born on January 28, 1930 to father Arthur Joseph Attridge and mother Katherine Frank Attridge in Long Beach, CA. He grew up in California with his parents and two sisters Lucille and Patricia.
Dick served in the Army as a cook in the Korean War. He then spent a short time at Union Oil until he worked a full 25 year career at Prudential as an insurance agent. A devoted family man, Dick raised four children with his wife Patricia in Torrance, CA. He was a beloved gentleman and a gentle man. After retiring in 1986, Dick was able to fully enjoy his favorite things: living on Lake Isabella in California; traveling on cruises; gambling at his favorite casinos; singing; pruning his rose bushes; visiting his children and grandchildren; and spending time with his wife, Pat.
To all that knew him, Dick was a role model living his life with grace, loyalty, and love. He had a big heart, a joyful presence, and treated everyone with genuine care. From “no habla” to “six toes”, he sure knew how to spark a smile and lighten the room. Dick left us all wondering “Is it true what they say about Dixie?” and whether we were a Tweety Tweet, Hunny Hun, or Baby Babe.
Dick’s beautiful soul continues to live on with his loved ones. He is missed dearly and we are ever so proud and ever so blessed to have called him husband, Dad, grandpa, G&G, brother, uncle, and friend.
Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia Attridge; his sister, Patricia Weiman; his four children, Sherry Lynn (Alan Dana) Marks, Linda Lee Attridge, Richard Alan (Susan Doom) Attridge, and Mary Ann Weideman; his ten grandchildren Briana (Charles) Berger, Richard (Shelly) Attridge, Brandon (Tara) Marks, Cameron Noble, Hailey (Robert) Feagans, Nashea Noble (Bradley Enyeart), Erica Noble, Dave Attridge, Kaitlin Weideman, and Kendall Weideman; and his eight great-grandchildren Dylan Attridge, Carson Attridge, Macie Marks, Kyla Enyeart, Boston Marks, Avery Feagans, Everett Feagans, and Brielle Enyeart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph Attridge and Katherine Frank Attridge; his sister, Lucille Gibson; his sons, Richard Attridge and Arthur Attridge; and his grandson, Michael Joseph Attridge. Our hearts are full knowing they are all together and the Holy Spirit has embraced them as they embraced each of us.
