Maria (Pace) "Volpe, age 100, of Boston’s North End, formally of Abbruzzi, Italy. Passed away on August 17, 2021.
Maria loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching daily Mass, cooking shows, sunning at the beach and playing her favorite game of bingo. Her zest for life, love of family and faith in God, inspired everyone around her.
Wife of the late Silvio Volpe. Loving mother of Luisa Bruno and her husband Ralph of Westwood, Luciano Volpe and his wife Diane of Westwood, Maria Grazia Volpe and her husband Dino Di Censo of Abruzzi, Italy and the late Angelo Volpe. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings in Italy. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 26th from 8:30am to 10am in the J.S. Waterman-Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St., Boston with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30am in St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston. Burial will be in Italy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
